Trace and I have been trying to find ways to reach out to those in need. We started by buying One.org and Save Darfur t-shirts and wristbands. Trace and I may not have the financial means to put together a charity or project that others can, (such as our idols, Brad and Angelina, Audrey Hepburn) but we do have the same passion and dedication to help.

We decided to put together an online auction on Ebay where a select portion of the proceeds will go to charities that Trace and I feel need immediate assistance. We call this D&T’s “Care for a Cause Auction”. Our mission is to not only create awareness but also motivate you to contribute to any cause. Trace and I will soon put together a list of items on Ebay that we feel you will take interest in and hopefully put in a bid. Some of the items include:

• Signed Ladanian Tomlinson San Diego Chargers jersey (w/ coa)
• Signed Antonio Cromartie San Diego Chargers football (includes picture of player signing jersey)
• Signed novel written by Gene Wilder (includes picture of Mr. Wilder signing book)
• Dwyane Wade signed jersey (w/ COA)
• Disney CARS diecast toys (list of characters TBA)
• and many more…

Each item in the auction will specify which charity the proceeds will go to. Once the item is purchased, we will write a check to the charity along with a letter explaining the Care for a Cause Auction. You will also be mentioned in that letter as being a contributor to the cause. In addition, you will receive proof that they have received the donation.

For those who do not wish to take part in this auction, please forward this message to anyone who you feel would be interested in auctioning for these items. Referrals can go a long way. Also, any donations are always welcome.

As you can see, Trace and I are avid collectors when it comes to sports and toys so these items have been difficult for us to let go. However, if these items can put food in a hungry mouth, build shelter for the homeless, and educate a child, then we have gained more than what we’ve lost.

Please keep in mind that this is only an introduction to our Care for a Cause Auction. I will begin posting items on Ebay this week so please bookmark this site for further updates and upcoming links to the auction.
