Being a Junior Web Designer is kinda like being a starving artist. They both enjoy what they do and know that this what they want to do with their life. They know their direction and are doing whatever it takes to get to where they want to be.
I’ve been working as a Junior Web Designer for over a month now and although the pay is not where I want it to be, I am proud to be in this position and proud to be able to call myself a designer. My foot is in the door and now the next step is to develop my knowledge and my experience.
Like I mentioned in my previous post, I never had proper web design training in college. I have learned a lot web design tools and apps in the past but never had the basic training in graphic design, typograthy, and color theory. This fall I hope to attain that knowledge.
Once that’s accomplished, my next goal would be to get my Adobe certification in Flash Design. I hope to use this cert to help me get higher pay and a higher position. Chuggin’ along, singin’ a song…
Oh yeah, so my manager decides to leave our company and along with it all hopes of me learning CSS. Although there are still a lot peeps in the company whom I can learn from, my manager is the most knowledgable. Sucks… I would’ve learned a lot from him…oh well.
